Stepping into a church for the first time can be a lot of things: exciting, uncomfortable, even a little scary! When you visit the Porterville Church of God, you can expect to be welcomed from the moment you walk into the door. We are a three-generation church - grandparents, parents, and children - with singles, couples, teenagers, young adults, children, babies, and adults of all ages.

But don't take our word for it: come and see for yourself! We believe God has a place of worship for every one of us, and we would love for you to become part of our church community!

What To Expect:

What Are Your Services Like?

At our church, you’ll find a friendly atmosphere with dynamic, Spirit-filled worship. We are Pentecostal, and what that means is we allow the Spirit of God to move freely and powerfully in our gatherings – whether it’s through a joyful shout or a whisper of a cry. Our music is contemporary on Sunday mornings, and we sing traditional hymns on Sunday nights. Pastor David shares a Bible-based message designed to challenge and encourage us in our faith. Our 10:30 a.m. service is typically finished by noon.

What do I Wear When I Attend Your Services?

Clothes are great. Shorts and sandals, suits and ties, dresses and jeans. Just be you!

WHAT about our Kids?

We are passionate about loving and caring for children! On Sunday mornings, our kids share in the worship experience with their families in the “Big Church.” After worship, kids ages 12-under go next door to “Kid’s Church” in a safe, loving environment – our staff is CPR-trained with background checks. For infants and babies ages 3-under, we offer a full-service nursery in Jackson Hall (first door to the right) for the entire worship service. They are cared for by a team of loving, experienced staff that is also CPR-certified. Youth ages 12-18 meet on Wednesday nights.

WHAT about nursing moms?

For moms who want to stay with their precious babies, we have a fully-equipped nursery room in the main sanctuary near the women’s restroom. The room has a TV with a live video feed of the service so you won’t miss a thing!

HOw Do We Find Your Church?

Our address is 940 W. Jubilee Lane, but that doesn’t always show up correctly on GPS, so punch in 940 W. Westfield instead. We are on the northeast corner of the Highway 65 overpass on W. Westfield, across the street from the Al’s Mini-Mart with the old batting cages.
